Health Care Professionals
Health care professionals, whether on the front line providing emergency services, conducting search and rescue immediately following a disaster, or those who provide daily and continuous care for patients and their families, will find resources in this section to help provide education and guidance for themselves and their patients about how to prepare for a disaster.
In addition to the guide (available as a PDF), there are sections with consolidated references and resources specific to hurricane preparedness, from dozens of national organizations including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Health and Human Services (HHS), National Oceanic Center and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). There are also videos to further your own education and to provide to patients and families for visual guidance on disasters.
Please use these resources to help educate your patients, yourself, and your practice about how to prepare for hurricanes.
